Silicone Night Lights

Five years ago, most night lights were hard plastic. They did the job but they weren't pleasant to hold, cracked when dropped, and felt like electronics rather than something you'd want on your bedside table. Silicone changed the category.

Silicone night lights are soft to the touch, flexible, and nearly indestructible. The material diffuses LED light evenly — no harsh spots, no visible bulb. Just a smooth, even glow. They feel more like a toy than a lamp, which is exactly why kids like them.

Why silicone works

It's food-grade safe (the same material used in kitchen spatulas and baby bottle nipples). It doesn't absorb odours. It's easy to wipe clean. It stays cool even when the LED is on. And it survives being dropped, thrown, stepped on, and chewed on without damage.

Not all silicone is the same

Quality varies. Cheap silicone feels rubbery and has a chemical smell out of the box. Good silicone feels smooth, has no smell, and bounces back to its shape after squeezing. If you're buying for a young child, check that it's specifically listed as BPA-free.
